Martha C asked:

I have a demitese set of 6 little spoons and 6 little forks with a rose pattern on the handle. The name on the back is Marthon I think. Then it has what looks like a horse shoe on top of a star pattern. It was tarnished and I cleaned it with silver polish. Is this set silver or stainless steel?

to know if the set is stainless or silver you need to look for the numbers 925 somewhere on the back of the utensil, if it has these numbers then it is silver and will shine up with silver polish but if it isn’t got these numbers then the ss just means stainless steel and as such won’t rust
