alicia m asked:
My dog is a cairn terrier mix and about 4 years old,
hes been picking stuff up around the yard and chewing on it
leather work gloves
swimming goggles
sandals..
and were now noticing hes not only chewing but digesting bits and pieces of this!
whats going to happen to him if he keeps this up?

He will prop. have MAJOR digestive issues! Things that should not be in there can rip and tear the stomach, intestines, bowels, ect!
Doggy proof your yard and supervise him when he is out!
You can take your dog to obedience classes, and if that doesn’t work, than the next time your dog chews on something, say NO! really loudly.
He will probably get sick or something could even get stuck in his intestine’s which will not be good. Keep an eye on him as much as you can and when your not home you might have to crate him or put him somewhere where he can’t get anything.
He will become ill – they could rip his stomach, cause blockages in his intestines etc etc etc.
What sort of yard is he getting in to have all that stuff just lying around?? You need to pick all this rubbish up so he cant get to it and supervise him when he is out there!
This is why I tell people to puppy proof the area the dog will be in. Outside as well as inside. He will not need expensive surgery to remove obstructions if you do not give him access to these things in the first place.
