    sterling silver is pure silver, and silver plated has some thing else in teh middle. Silver plated is more durrable.

    Silver plated is where its pretty much dipped in silver.. just covered and sterling silver is where it is the whole metal.. silver plated will bend sterling silver wont and silver plated will chip more with sterling silver u will have more cleaning but with sterling silver cleaning wipes

    Silver plated is just a covering of silver over some other metal.
    Sterling silver is solid (alloy) containing at least 92.5%(.925) silver.

    Sterling sliver is made up of real silver and and sliver plated is fake sliver which is supposed to look like real silver. Sliver plated cost less or sometimes just as much as real silver.
